To create the pattern in example A, I first started by creating this scalloped shape. This is going to act as a guide for my artwork.

Some other interesting shapes that often show up in patterns that you may want to consider are: ogee, diamond, or quatrefoil. If you are looking for further inspiration for shapes, you may want to research floral patterns from the Art Deco movement.

Next, I added lines and dots, along with some floral motifs.
